People often wonder how life would be without pets to keep. In this sometimes crazy world, pets are the light and joy that keeps us grounded and happy. Pets do not seek anything in return but the companionship and emotional support they give cannot be compared with anything money can buy.
I had a pet dog once. My father got it for our home. Honestly we did not feel so great about it. We thought it was just too much work. Over the days, sitting together and watching the dog so happy and playful became a habit. The little guy would try to jump over us and just wag his cute little tail and run around. It was funny and we would all talk to the dog as if he understood us. All of us got attached with him and we named him Felix.
Unfortunately on the 5th month of Felix’s life, he got sick. We took him to the Vet and he tried his best to save his life. But the viral infection was bad. He did not survive. He died on my dad’s arm. As he lay there dying, my dad held his paws and told him to go safely to the other side. He passed away peacefully. Maybe we did not deserve him. He was just too precious. There was just so much Felix made us feel in his short span of life. He brought us joy, love, and laughter. We will forever miss him.
And I end here with a wonderful quote by — Roger Caras “Pets are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
